The art of being alone

Taylor Swift once said, “The scary news is, you are on your own now. But the cool news is, you are on your own now.” From a young age, we're conditioned to fear loneliness, seeing those who eat alone as weak or pitiable in books and movies. We avoid being labeled as a 'weirdo' or needing saving, striving for acceptance at the cost of losing our true selves in pursuit of others' approval.
