Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group and political party based in Lebanon, emerged in the early 1980s during the Lebanese Civil War. It was formed with support from Iran and aims to resist Israeli influence in the region. Hezbollah has a significant military wing and has been involved in various conflicts, including the 2006 Lebanon War. It also participates in Lebanese politics, holding seats in parliament and influencing government decisions. The group is viewed differently worldwide, seen as a terrorist organization by some and a legitimate resistance movement by others.
